I have been fighting eczema and allergies since I was a child. In my 20s, my esophagus started closing when I ate. I went to several doctors and specialists trying to figure out what was wrong. They all kept throwing meds my way.

The condition persisted to the point that I had to have emergency surgery to open my esophagus. I was then diagnosed with Eosinophilic Esophagitis. Here come more meds. I was told I was allergic to something but the Gastroenterologist, Dermatologist, Allergist and Internal Med could not tell me what. Nor could they order a test to pin point it.

A couple months later I saw a post on Facebook about Colleen so I reached out to her. I emailed her my story and got a response within 24 hours. She said she knew exactly what I was going through as she had been there herself.

We ordered the blood test and found out that I am allergic to wheat. Wheat allergies can cause Dermatitis Herpetiformis “aka” the gluten rash and EE. I was extremely relieved to know that we had found the root of my problems.

I am actively trying to live a gluten free lifestyle. It is a major adjustment that keeps tricking me. I know it will take a while to get it down to a science. I have a ways to go but am in a much better place now that I have the results.

Colleen was very helpful in our coaching sessions, providing menus and recipes and following up with me on a weekly basis. She has given me the tools to conquer this dietary change for a lifetime. I am forever grateful to her.
