Happy 2015! This year, one of my intentions is to open myself up, write more and share more with all of you. Because, well…. I am human too, and I want to let you in on more than just what I share in my newsletters. So starting now, I will be sharing 2 blogs per month! They are going to be on anything and everything that is happening the moment I write them! So, for this one, I wanted to open it up and share with you guys a personal story that was emailed to me by a client. Of course, it was 100% okay with her for me to share this with all of you. This is her personal story of what she experienced before the MRT, working with me through the program and how she felt afterwards. I wanted to share this because I am always saying, “you know, it’s more than food!” Blah blah, I know you guys know this already, but it’s so freaking true! This very rewarding work that I do with my clients extends WAY past the kitchen, ordering supplements and healing the body from the inside out. It extends into how we deal with slip ups and setbacks. It’s how we view struggle and forgive ourselves for “screwing up” when, in reality, we really didn’t screw up at all. We are always our worst critic and, often, so very hard on ourselves. This is also a great testimony to read if you have been thinking about working with me or if you have a friend that may be struggling with changing their lifestyle and needs some guidance and support. Please share this story y’all. I am here to help you, connect with you and help you feel happy, healthy and alive! So here goes! Read on folks…
I begin by saying THANK YOU TO YOU! If it not for you, Colleen, I think I would have been one hot menopausal mess! I know that my issues have been building over the years, but 2 years ago when I began my journey with you, benefitting from your knowledge, and tools (MRT testing) you have access to because of your career and passion for what you do, I really don’t know where I would be…disgustingly ICKY feeling all the time, headaches, many bathroom breaks, still Granuloma Annulare all over my legs and arms. Wow, it’s all better now…in fact it is fantastic. So here’s the story:
This year I had a mammogram that came back with cysts showing up in my left breast….my mom, and her mother have breast cancer….I am destined maybe to have this….well I have lived a healthy lifestyle, non-smoker, exercised all the time, even became an instructor for years, and breast fed my three children. So I go to a breast cancer doctor…they cysts are so small, I can’t feel them, they are no bigger than the tip of the pencil, and this is the first time they have been detected. So, the doc says…come back 6 months from this appointment (which will be this March 2015) they will redo the mammogram and see what’s happening. In the meantime I must add Evening Primrose Oil 1300 mg and Vitamin E 1000 IU to my supplement regime. She (the dr. says I can get this anywhere….Target, Kroger, Walgreens Etc) you get my drift…and she also remarked…I’LL KNOW IF YOU DON’T TAKE THEM AT THE NEXT VISIT. I say “OK, however, I am going to check with my dietician/nutrition licensed daughter.” And yes, we had the conversation. Because I have had the MRT test, I know full well what I can and can’t have to eat as well as what food dyes I must stay away from and also ibuprofen and acetaminophen. I should not have ibuprofen or acetaminophen on a daily basis. It’s proven, my body doesn’t like it all the time. Soy is another deal…I must not have that, and it is known if you have cancer, that the first thing you stay away from is Soy…
Here’s the kicker…. Searching for the Evening Primrose Oil 1300 mg. Found it, no problem in Whole foods….nothing but Evening Primrose Oil in a gel capsule. Great….Ok…now lets look for Vitamin E. Well, I am at Whole Foods, reading the labels….UGHH… their products, straight up, have at the most IU’s and are only 400…so I have to take 3! Next stop, Target…OH Heck NO….more stuff in their Vitamin E! I then travel to Brighter Day! Whoo Hoo! Vitamin E, 1000 IU JUST A SOFT GEL WITH WATER AND VEGETABLE OIL!!! YES, take one and done!!! And it says, “contains NO: sugar, salt, dairy, yeast, wheat, gluten, corn, preservatives, artificial color air flavors”…Amazing! That’s the one for me. So, now I just have my list on my phone as to where I can get these and my worries and homework are finished. So, back up to the MRT test. What if I didn’t read all those labels and just ONE STOP SHOPPED listening to the Breast Dr.? She knows her Breast stuff, but she doesn’t know what MY BODY DOES when I ingest supplements that are supposed to help but they contain a bunch of other ‘STUFF’ that MY OWN PERSONNEL BODY will not like, therefore, I am doing it more harm. I guess this is a testimony to you Colleen, and the supplements you choose to have your clients on, knowing what will help their own bodies heal, and the right support they need. It’s no wonder that years ago when I could just take ANY VITAMIN, OR SUPPLEMENT, I would feel nauseous, so my solution was DON’T TAKE ANY. Now I am great with the supplements I take, my blood work shows all my levels are awesome and I have clarity, can focus and feel wonderful. Thank you Thank you…
My heart is full, y’all! It’s so rewarding to have stories like this that I can share. You guys do the work…I am just a facilitator! I am so excited for what is to come in 2015. This is just the beginning of a great year! Cheer’s y’all. If you have any questions at all, if you just want to share a story with me on your own success, please, leave a comment below or feel free to email me at Colleen@Colleen-McCarthy.com. I want to connect and hear from you!
