Casal de São Pedro greets its guests in its rustic entrance hall. The stone floors and antique wooden furniture evoke the style of an elegant Portuguese country manor. Its stone floors lead through all of the ground level’s social rooms.

Living Room

One of the house’s most beautiful spaces, the living room features delightful handpainted walls representing pastoral scenes of Sintra in the 19th century. Large bay windows overlook the pool and gardens.

Dining Room

The dining room is charmingly decorated with rustic furniture and can accommodate 10 adults comfortably at the main table. There may be folding tables and chairs available to set up in the adjoining rooms to seat several more.

Salão Azul

This is a cozy family den on the first floor where the TV is located as well as games and a library with books in several languages. The walls are lined with traditional Portuguese crockery. A unique wrap-around bay window directly overlooks a garden nook filled with colorful flowers.

The heart of the house, our country kitchen is stocked with cook- and dish-ware as well as tasteful antiques, handpainted tiles and an old baking oven (not functional). Appliances include a dishwasher, two refrigerators, and a quality stove.

Below the kitchen is a magical room known as the adega – an old wine cellar. Like a medieval Spanish meson, it is a fantastic space for grilling food, playing games and entertaining.

The two floor house can sleep 10 people in four rooms with an additional 2 folding beds. Each room has its own bathroom and closets. The rooms all feature traditional Portuguese ceilings, and each has wonderful character and its own views of the gardens. Of the four bedrooms, 3 have double beds and one has 4 single beds (bunkbeds). Additionally, there are 2 folding cots, & 1 baby crib
